Crescentine

Crescentine are typical food of Italy, They are excellent served with various slices fresh of Parma Ham, Salame Felino, Pancetta coppata, various pickles and different cheeses as well.

Ingredients:

-500g(17.63 oz) flour -200ml of fresh cream

-25g(0.88 oz) of fresh beer yeast

-a pinch of salt

-a pinch of sugar

-1 glass of tepid hot water

-750 ml of sunflower oil

Preparation:

1) Put in a glass, a tepid water, a pinch of sugar and the yeast . Stir until the yeast has dissolved.

2) In a large bowl, put the flour, the fresh cream, the dissolved yeast, a pinch of salt and mix very well.

3) Leave for 2-3 hours the dough covered with a kitchen towel and in a heat place. The heat place helps the leavening.

4) Roll out the leavened dough into a large sheet, one millimeter of thick.

5) Cut the dough into squares or rectangles and cover them for another half hour.

6) In a wok pan, fry the oil. When it’s very cold/hot, start adding your crescentine.

7) As soon the crescentine are swell, turn them over and leave them for another minute, then pull them away with pliers and put them in a plate with absorbent kitchen paper.

8) After placed in a large baking dish and covered with a clean kitchen towel.

Served hot!
