Pastry Cream
Ingredients:
-400 g (14.11oz) of fresh whole milk
-100g(3,53oz) of liquid fresh cream
-6 Yolks
-1 Vanilla pod
-140g of sugar
-45 g (1.59oz)of corn starch (maizena)
Preparation: 1) Pour the milk, the liquid fresh cream, the seeds scraped from the vanilla and the pod into a bowl. Bring to the boil. 2) Meanwhile, in another bowl, pour the yolks and sugar, beat briefly, add the corn starch and mix again with a whisk until you obtain a homogeneous compound. 3) As soon as the milk starts to boil, remove the vanilla pod from the mixture milk and pour it slowly while mixing with the whisk. 4) Transfer everything back to the saucepan and cook the cream until it has hardened.
